Artist Statement:

"My expressionistic exploration of encaustic, pigment, and canvas is seductive. Working within the confines of these challenging materials required a certain artistic discipline. And as a contemporary artist, I think that’s a good thing. Because it reminds me that putting my trust in the material and the process will reveal the destination.

...I have been very blessed to travel abroad with my film crews and my ever-present sketch pad and Nikons. Exotic locations like Indonesia, Java, Costa Rica, Limon, Santa Domingo, Quebec, Kowloon.

This cultural mix I still dream about.

I don’t necessarily draw direct inspiration in my art from these places but I'm sure they are embedded somewhere in the work"
